Fishing Reports and Forecasts for Lake Norman - August 14, 2009

This report submitted on:

Daytime - Stripers, catfish, bass and perch are being caught along the main river channel from Marker 3 to Marker 7 in 30 - 60 ft of water. Live baits fished 20-40 ft deep, and artificials trolled or jigged at the same depths are effective. Schools of catfish are feeding in the deep water near Cowans Ford Dam. Again, live baits and artificials fished up to 40 ft deep in 100+ feet of water are catching fish. Cut baits work too.

Night - The stiper bite is slowing down in the deep water near Cowans Ford Dam as the stripers begin to stage further north in the river channel as noted above.
